Position Details:

  • Hours of Work: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Eligibility for overtime where required)

 

  • Weekend Shift: Friday to Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Training Period for Weekend Shift: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for about two weeks.
  • NOC Code – 94201 – Electronics assembler, fabricators, inspectors and testers.

 

Location: Head Office, Cornwall Road, Oakville, ON

 

Summary: We are seeking a Production Assembler to assemble electronic billboards, your responsibilities can include measuring and making accurate cuts to parts, ensuring all parts are put together the equipment.

 

The primary responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Follow and understand safety procedures and company policies including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Responsible for population and wiring of electronic components including LED modules, power supplies, receiver cards, etc. into metalwork assemblies.
  • Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, work instructions, specifications, work orders, bills of material and reports to accurately assemble components into finished products.
  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems and/or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring using rivets, bolts and other mechanical fasteners.
  • Utilize basic hand tools (manual and pneumatic) to assist with component installation (wrenches, drivers, sockets, rivets, etc.).
  • Continual review for component or metalwork defects and report to production lead hand; responsible for component/cell level quality assurance.
  • Verify dimensions and clearance of components to ensure conformance to production drawing and other specifications.
  • Review and follow direction from production floor lead hands and supervisors
  • Inform shop-floor management on issues related to quality, production and/or safety which may adversely impact meeting your daily production goals.
  • Keep record and report daily personal labour hours dedicated to each production work order
  • Tag and label components.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production work cell.
  • Actively identifying continuous improvement opportunities to increase production efficiency and safety.

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

 Academic Training:

  • High school diploma or GED.

 

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ working experience of hands-on electronics assembly and population into large mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

 

Specific Competencies:

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings of mechanical and electronic assemblies.
  • To be able to and are comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
  • To be flexible to work extra hours when needed (overtime).
  • Experience using basic hand and power tools including drills, tie snips, impact driver, glue gun and screwdrivers.
  • To have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • To be a self-starter and to have the ability to work independently.
  • To have excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • To be able to read and write in English.
  • Fall arrest and Scissor lift training is an asset.
  • Sign industry, Building, or construction experience preferred.
  • To thrive in a fast-paced environment.
