  • Training Period for Weekend Shift: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for about two weeks.

Location: Oakville, ON

 

Summary:

As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Welder for our Oakville facility.  The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment reporting to a member of the management committee.

 

The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Operate brazing and soldering equipment
  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
  • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers.
  • Welding, brazing and soldering machine operators
  • Operate previously set up welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gas and arc welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts
  • Operate previously set up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal parts or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal articles with solder
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing and soldering equipment
  • May adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications.
  • Expertly welds small, medium, and large bore of various metals and alloys.
  • Performs complex mechanical installations per engineering direction.
  • Works with Manager to order tools, equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for the group’s job requirements following Company’s policies and processes.
  • Works in conjunction with other crews and lead persons.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and leadership
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

 Academic Training:

  •  High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current welding certification is an asset.

 

Work Experience:

  • Experience operating a grinder, drill, MIG SMAW, MIG Aluminum Welding machines, burn and heat torches, and hand and band saws.
  • 1+ years of related MIG welding experience
  • Aluminum experience would be an asset.
  • Experience reading blueprints.
  • Manufacturing environment an asset

  • Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work and progress, and track procurements and status.
  • Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • Must have own reliable transportation.
