Summary:

As an Electronics Assembler, the successful incumbent will have electronics manufacturing experience with both surface mount and through-hole component technologies.

You specialize in troubleshooting/debugging, reworking, repairing,, and building various assemblies at various levels of completion with good hand-eye coordination with these technologies.

You will have good re-work experience and excellent soldering skills to perform RMA repair jobs. Excellent understanding of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards, IPC-A-610 certification is preferred but not required for this position.

The primary responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Solder and manually assemble various electronic components, such as resistors, diodes, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, switches, wires, and other electronic parts, at designated locations on printed circuit boards.
  • Assemble microcircuits requiring fine hand assembly, the use of microscopes, and adherence to cleanroom procedures.
  • Install, mount, fasten, align, and adjust parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to subassemblies and assemblies using hand and small power tools.
  • Operate automatic and semi-automatic machines to position, solder, and clean prescribed components on printed circuit boards.
  • Operate and monitor process equipment including automatic and semi-automatic machines to fabricate electronic components, solder, clean, seal, and stamp components, and perform other process operations as specified.
  • Set up process equipment and adhere to cleanroom procedures as required.
  • May replace defective components and repair and overhaul older devices.
  • Conduct quality control for all MRI RMA products to meet commercial standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Test all MRI RMA products, to validate the failures.
  • Performs inspection, using magnifying devices to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Repair, assemble, and test electronic products (LED display modules)
  • Touch-up, soldering, desoldering, cleaning of surface mount and through-hole components, pads, manual potting application, etc. as per IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
  • Keep immediate and nearby work areas and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Report any unsafe or abnormal conditions or opportunities for continual improvement to the supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and leadership.

Requirements / Qualifications:

 Academic Training:

  • A vocational school certificate or college degree is required.

Work Experience:

  • Experience in troubleshooting, reworking electronic PCBAs,
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of PC, system, server repair, and troubleshooting.
