Location: Oakville, ON but will require to travel to our Royal Windsor, Mississauga location.

The Logistics Warehouse Manager will be reporting to the Operations Manager. This opportunity is responsible for supervising, training, and coordinating employees in the warehouse and logistics-related operations, such as receiving and shipment of materials and finished goods.

The successful incumbent is responsible for designing a work plan and assigning work; implementing procedures, enforcing company policies, and recommending department improvements in their area of responsibility.  To achieve an optimal organization of workflow, the Logistics Warehouse Manager is responsible for reviewing shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices; orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods to meet established shipping and receiving schedules.


The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:

  • Direct, train, and guarantee that the team is scheduling and coordinating shipments, as well as optimizing freight carriers to obtain the lowest cost possible.
  • Manage all shipments, ensuring that procedures and documentation abide by shipping and regulatory requirements.
  • Guarantee the safety of the work environment by enforcing H&S policies, and ensuring the proper physical condition of the warehouse and equipment.
  • Look into a warehouse near misses and accidents and recommend corrective actions to the appropriate unit/authority.
  • Ensure that the receiving process keeps up inventory control during receiving inspection and collaborate with the Quality Department on preventative measures for non-conformances cases.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and orienting; training and appraisal of employees to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Monitor progress toward meeting objectives; and motivate, coach, and counsel the team as necessary.
  • Plan and oversee outbound logistics, including on-site and off-site warehouse inventory, and the transportation of finished goods.
  • Establish and preserve relationships, as well as negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers for logistics providers and inbound supply of raw materials.
  • Collaborate with customer service and sales to perform assessments of strategic logistic opportunities
  • Plan and allocate resources for warehouse picking and shipping processes to ensure daily shipments are packed and shipped promptly following customers’ requirements.
  • Confer with unit heads to ensure warehouse activities harmonize with that of other functions such as production and purchasing.
  • Provide support operation processes, including inspection, receiving, and storage; material usage, order picking, and inbound and outbound shipments; and the handling and disposition of material activities.
  • Responsible for monitoring and upholding inventory accuracy through cycle count process, investigation of variances, and quarterly and annual physical inventories.
  • Responsible for managing the department’s KPIs, including visual controls; and converse status to management.
  • Spot and understand the root cause of problems and execute countermeasures.
  • Develop and implement lean initiatives to guarantee continuous improvement in processes.
  • Responsible for employee compliance with company policies and production procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.


Requirements / Qualifications:

Academic Training:

  • A minimum of a Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain, or in a related field
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement processes is considered an asset


Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience covering logistics, operations, warehouse, and managerial experience.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.

  • Must have mentoring and coaching skills, be efficient at allocating resources, and be able to coordinate and contribute to the team effort in accomplishing target results.
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and address deviations from projected goals through analytical and decision-making skills managing multiple stakeholders and processes.
  • Have a high sense of urgency and can prioritize assignments and manage time judiciously.
  • Have proficiency level skills in MS Office applications, relational databases, and ERP systems to perform the job successfully, specifically Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Ability to travel to other MRI locations.
