Metal Work Fitter
About this opportunity
We are currently seeking resourceful, self-motivated individuals to join our award-winning team as Metal Work Fitter. In this position, you will perform various activities in our Digital Department specializing in large Digital LED Displays! We are looking for Level 2 and Level 3 Metal Work Fitters.
What you will do
- Utilize aluminum CNC saw, hydraulic shear, drill press, break press & other metalwork tools to cut structural components as needed
- Lay out, position, secure & assembly aluminum metalwork products in accordance with production drawings & standard work instructions
- Construct structural components from raw aluminum material including extrusion & plate aluminum
- Using basic hand tools to form structural components
- Inspect & measure fabricated components to ensure that they are within the specification provided in the drawings
- Cut & prepare metalwork components to be consumed as volume stock
- Adhere to all Company Safety related policies, procedures, & training (especially during Covid-19)
- Actively identifying continuous improvement opportunities to increase production efficiency & safety
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have minimum 3 years of working experience in metalwork, metal fitting & or mechanical assembly
- Ability to interpret technical drawings of metalwork mechanical assemblies
- Must be flexible to work extra hours when needed (overtime)
- Experience using basic hand & power tools including drills, drill press, impact driver, glue gun & tape measure
- Welding experience & certification is considered a strong asset
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Fall arrest and Scissor lift training is an asset
- Building, construction, or sign industry experience preferred
- Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
